About Bopter
Why I Built It
Bopter started in a small music community in Galway. I take part in a monthly blues jam, and local musicians regularly step in for each other at gigs. It's collaborative and supportive — but coordination is messy. Confirmations live in WhatsApp threads. Availability is scattered across Google Calendars. Lineups change at the last minute. Musicians who play in multiple bands feel this most.
After speaking with real gigging musicians, the same frustration kept coming up: there should be a better way to organise this.
What Bopter Is (and Isn't)
Bopter is not a social network. It's not a booking marketplace. It's a coordination tool for working musicians.
- Organise gigs
- Track availability
- Confirm lineups
- Avoid double bookings
- Share a simple public gig page
Built in Beta
Bopter is currently in beta. It's been built with feedback from real musicians and it's still evolving. You might find rough edges. Feedback is welcome — we'd rather hear it than guess.
